Please note that our instructors gratefully accept cash tips. Gratuity is not expected, but it's always appreciated.

How to Dress: 
  • Dress for the weather. Please bring a coat, rain jacket and gloves during the spring, fall and winter seasons. No ponchos.
 
  • Riders need to wear jeans, sweats, english pants or cotton leggings. No shorts or capris.
 
  • Riders and non-riders need to wear boots or tennis shoes. No crocs, slippers, flipflops or sandals. 

NO alcohol, NO pets, NO smoking of any kind (including vapes), NO drugs of any kind (including recreational marijuana) allowed on Rice’s Horses property.

Waivers:
All guests (riders and non-riders) on Rice's Horses property need to sign a waiver. Rice's Horses may deny riding to any rider and/or spectator to be in the arena or barn without a completed waiver/liability release form on file.

  • The waiver can be found on the appointment forms tab. If one or both parents are riding, then the mom and/or dad with their kids (under 18 years old) go on one waiver. Only one parent needs to sign a waiver if it's only their kid(s) riding. We will have waivers available for you to sign upon arrival if you don't have access to a printer.
 
  • For guests (riders and non-riders) over 18 years old, you can bring your signed waiver for yourself and/or for your kid(s), or we will have waivers for you to sign upon arrival for your scheduled ride.
 
  • The parent(s) (not coming to the scheduled ride/event/lesson) that are having a friend, family member or a group bringing their kid(s) as a spectator or riding need to email the signed waiver to [email protected] or text it to 503-320-7174 no later than 4 days before the scheduled ride/event. If the waiver is received within 4 days of the scheduled ride/event, Rice's Horses may deny riding to any rider and/or spectator to be in the arena or barn without a completed waiver/liability release form on file.
 
  • The parent(s) that are dropping their kids off need to bring a signed waiver when they arrive for their kid(s) scheduled ride. We will have waivers available for you to sign upon arrival if you don't have access to a printer.
   
Birthday Parties:
All guests (riders and non-riders) please review this section and the "How to Dress", "Waivers", "Arrival Time", "When you arrive", and the "Cancellation Policy" sections on this page.

  • Party planner needs to arrive 30-40 minutes before scheduled time to set up and decorate the party/game room with foosball, air-hockey, cornhole, bumper pool, ping-pong and magnetic darts.
 
  • All guests (riders and non-riders) need to arrive 20-25 minutes before scheduled ride/party.
 
  • We only allow Scotch brand wall mounting tabs, command strips or blue painters tape to be placed on the walls to hang posters, etc. for decorations.
 
  • We provide chairs and (3) 6ft long tables. Please bring tablecloths for all 3 tables. NO BALLONS allowed because they scare the horses. If you need food or drinks (no alcohol allowed) to stay cold at the party, feel free to bring a cooler since we don't have a fridge or freezer.

Arrival Time:
Please review this section and follow the parking instructions in the "When you arrive" section on this page.

  • Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled ride, guided trail ride or lesson time to go over safety instructions, collect/sign waivers and fit for helmets. 
 
  • If you arrive 5 minutes after your scheduled ride, guided trail ride, or lesson time, you may miss the opportunity to hear the instructions etc. We reserve the right to decline anyone arriving late (5 minutes) the privilege of riding.
 
  • Please arrive 5 minutes before scheduled time for meet and greets, dropping off payment and for ongoing lessons.
   
  • When you arrive at Rice's Horses barn, please wait in or by your vehicle until a staff member comes to greet you.

Custom Camps:
  • Please review the cancellation policy and fun activities for custom camps on the "Services and Pricing Tab" at least 10 days prior to the scheduled camp.
 
  • Please review the instructions in the "waiver", "how to dress" and "when you arrive" sections on this page no later than 7 days before the scheduled camp.
 
  • All guests (riders and non-riders) need to arrive 20-30 minutes before the scheduled camp to go over safety instructions, collect waivers and fit for helmets.
 
  • Each camper (non-riders included) needs to bring a water bottle and a sack lunch when they arrive for their scheduled camp.
 
  • Please pick up your kid(s) right at the time the camp ends if their ride isn't staying for the scheduled camp.​​
When you Arrive: 
  • Google Maps will take you directly to our entrance where you will see our sign (image to the left).
 
  • Drive SLOWLY up the gravel driveway for about 1/2 of a mile to our property. Watch for cars and horses!
 
  • Parking: After you pass the white house on your left keep going straight. Park in front of the "Park Here" signs by the barn.
 
  • When you arrive at Rice's Horses barn, please wait in or by your vehicle until a staff member comes to greet you.

  • NO alcohol, NO pets, NO smoking of any kind (including vapes), NO drugs of any kind (including recreational marijuana) allowed on Rice’s Horses property.
 For everyone's safety, all guests (riders and non-riders) must be able to speak and understand English. We reserve the right to decline anyone the privilege to be on the property or to ride if any of the rules (on the website, in text or in person) are not followed for everyone's safety.

Lesson Cancellation Policy:
Please do not come to your lesson if you are sick. Follow what you would do for school/work. Please stay home and get well if you have a fever, vomiting, etc.

Please notify Rice's Horses at least 48 hours prior to the scheduled lesson if you need to cancel for any reason (including illness or injury), request to switch lesson participate(s), change the number of riders, use the non-refundable lesson payment or gift certificate payment to reschedule the lesson or use the lesson payment for any horse service based on availability.

For any cancellations for any reason (including illness or injury), no-show, or number of riders change within 48 hours prior to the scheduled lesson, payment or gift certificate payment is non-transferable and non-refundable. Requesting to switch lesson participate(s) within 48 hours prior to the scheduled lesson does not apply. If Rice's Horses cancels your scheduled lesson(s) for any reason, lesson payment is transferable of any horse service based on availability.

Guided Trail Ride, Birthday Party, Meet and Greet and One-Time Ride Cancellation Policy:
Please do not come to your scheduled ride, party etc. if you are sick. Follow what you would do for school/work. Please stay home and get well if you have a fever, vomiting, etc.

All deposits (includes meet and greet, 50% of gift certificate payments) are non-refundable. Please notify Rice's Horses at least 7 days prior to your scheduled ride/party or meet and greet if you need to cancel for any reason (including illness, injury), request to switch rider(s), change the number of riders and the paid remaining balance is refundable.

The remaining balance (includes 50% of gift certificate) is due upon arrival unless a 7-day notice is given via text or email. For any cancellations for any reason (including illness, injury), no-shows or number of riders change within 7 days prior to your scheduled ride/party the full remaining balance is due upon arrival/charged and 50% of gift certificate (when applicable) is charged. Requesting to switch rider(s) within 7 days prior to the scheduled ride/party does not apply. If you decide to cancel your guided trail ride because of the weather and the ride is still "a go", the full remaining balance is still due upon arrival/charged. Requesting to switch rider(s) within 7 days prior to the scheduled ride/party does not apply.

If Rice's Horses cancels your scheduled ride/party etc., for any reason, and at any time, the non-refundable deposit is transferable, or the gift certificate payment is transferable of any horse service based on availability. 

 Call or Text us prior to your appointment if you have any questions AND to ensure your Deposit payment has been RECEIVED. We accept paypal, cash, check, Card, or money order for payment.
